A newbie to T life, have a 26 TT that is now running and desperately in need of new tires, flaps and tubes.
The current tires are marked as follows: Front: 4.40 - 4.50 - 21 4 ply. Rear: 32 x 6.6 14 ply
Thanks,
Christopher

First of all, no pictures, it never happened. Let's see this TT of yours !
I run Lucas 6.00 x 20's on the rear, and had some hand-me-down skinnies on the
front, that look out of proportion to the rest of the truck (seen below). I recently
put some Fisk 4.40/4.50 x 21's on the front that look much better, much of which
is a more "truck-like" tread.
Where in Oregon are you ?

Fisk?!? Those have to be some seriously old tires. Or is the brand still being used?

I can only assume they are not ancient, as they still look good. Maybe a
current supplier is having this mold and pattern produced ? When my wheels
come back from Stutzman, I will be looking more seriously at what is available
these days. The "skinnies" on my truck are still good, but would look more
appropriate on a car. These Fisks are a little heftier in width and the tread is
more "aggressive", like one might expect for a truck.

You can't go by looks. My NOS New Zealand Firestones looked new when they came out of the wrappers. They were gorgeous. Country roads ate them up in no time.
Tires made in recent decades should have a date code on them.

Nice 26TT. I bought the 6.00-20 Lucas rear tires, tubes, and flaps from Snyders Antique Auto, because it's only about 2hr drive for me to go get them. My truck, while not correct currently has 30x3.5 Firestone tires on the front because I had two good 30x3.5 demountable wheels and rims and didn't have the propper 21" for the front. - Matt

I'm running 700 20's on mine. They have all sorts of options for 700's.
I'm a bit south in Albany Oregon. Nice to hear some other tt's are going to be running around.

It gives the truck a slight rake to the front. With 21" front wheels.

Summit racing has 450-475 21 inch tires for $112 each and free shipping? The fronts tire you have are INSA TIRES, I always had good results with that brand, I don’t know if they make them anymore. I still have a set on the 27 Tudor. If your tube es and flaps are in good shape I’d use them again. I’ve had trouble with the new 21 inch tubes going flat. Your mileage may very. Good luck on your TT.

Thanks everyone for all of the helpful suggestions, I ordered new front tires from Summit and rears from Langs. I also ordered one new rear tube as I have a very slow leak in the right rear. Drove the truck a couple miles down to the gas station yesterday as a maiden voyage and it did great. I'm totally new to TT ownership as my two old cars are 50s British.
Thanks,
Christopher

Well Christopher, TTs are FUN, and you can use them for a lot of other things around the home too! So don't be shy to use it
