I am replacing the brake drum on a wood wheel and am not sure how tight to make the new nuts.
Anyone have a torque value that I should use.

Re: wood wheel hub bolt torque
Just snug tight with an 8" length wrench. You'll know as you pull hard they are right. If you over-tighten, the front plate can become deformed.
After you tighten the nuts, be sure to stake or deform by hammering the bolt ends at the nut to keep the nut from backing off.

With the narrower nuts supplied by the vendors, you can very easily strip them, so go tight, but do not over do it.

You can also use blue Loctite on the nuts. That will keep them from coming loose, but they can be removed if needed without ruining the threads. JMHO Dave

I’ve recently tensioned mine to 40 Ft Lbs. That figure was specified in a Data Sheet I have and “felt” okay
