When I first got my 26 Roadster it had a Z head and 14mm plugs. I think they were NGK B5ES (not sure) but I changed to original style plugs because the NGK would fowl all the time and I was always cleaning them. The original style plugs works way better for my particular engine. Just my .02 .

From my experience NGK BP2ES work well. They are suitable for distributor equipped ignition systems, but I have no experience using them with trembler coil systems. Also avoid any with R in the number as these are resistor plugs and will cause problems. I have over 25000 miles off two sets of the BP2ES ones, 15000 on the first set and the balance on the second set. These have been helped using a Stromberg OF carb, initially i made one good one from 2 old ones from E-bay, and latterly one from uncle Stan. Nigel Hugo.

What Chris said about resistors "R" in the number, is what we have found too when running on magneto/coils. I don't think the resistors like the varying voltage when run on magneto and coils and seem to go to pot. Most all plugs sold today over the counter are resistor types, so you have to do a little leg work to find non-resistor types.

I use Autolite 66. The are cheap and seem to work good for me. I buy mine at Auto Zone

I run a Z-head, with Champion RN-10Y plugs. I have been very happy with them.
What was unacceptable to this aesthetically conscious owner is the modern top
contact/connection point, but the RN-10Y plug has a threaded top with a removable
modern cap. This allowed me to attach the stock wire harness in a period manner,
that looks perfectly 1933, Farmer Brown approved, when the hood is open. 👍

Finding M4 thread brass wing nuts was a challenge, but the internet is your friend.
At first I looked for a period knurled nut, but changed direction to the wing nut for
ease of on-the-road adjustment.

Burger, those wing nuts look great. Could you be more specific on where you got them?
Thanks,
Keith

Keith,

It was a couple years ago and I do not remember specifics, but I will look around
tonight and see if I can retrace my steps for you.

They came from China. Kind of a funny story .... Chinese sellers of odd little doo-
widgets like this seem to have very sketchy website sales presence. But they were
something like $4.60 for ten of them, so I pulled the trigger, hoping it wasn't a scam
and some Nigerian Prince wasn't about to clean out my bank account.

About six months went by and I was thinking the bank account had not been drained,
but no package ever came with those wing nuts, so I wrote it off .... The one day I get
this TINY, itsy-bitsy envelope in the mail, with all sorts of cute little chinese characters
all over it. I opened it up, and shur-nuff, .... there they were !

It only took 10 months, but what the the hey !

Thanks, Burger. It was worth asking anyway as they do like neat. Thanks again.

Keith,

I just now typed "M4 brass wing nuts" into my search bar and pulled up
a whole bunch of exactly what we are talking about. Easy-peasy !
