1913 body striping
I am sure that striping on the 1913 touring body has been discussed to death, but can someone refresh my memory as to whether striping was standard and what the patterns, stripe width and colors were. Maybe there's a link to the old forum with descriptions/pictures.
Looking forward to the MTFCA meeting next week at Hershey.
Thanks,
Charlie Bass

Re: 1913 body striping
Disregard. I found a great thread in the old forum from 2010 which indicates that body striping was discontinued in March 2013. My car is a May 2013.

Re: 1913 body striping
It's well worth the discussion anyhow. My pet peeves re/ striping are stripes too heavy (wide), too much, and wrong color. On '13s, one often sees the belt line stripe coped around the windshield back-brace bolt head (mine was done that way). Period photos show it low enough to clear the bolt head. Problem is, authentically light (thin) stripes cannot be executed with masking tapes. There are few hands these days capable of doing true pin stripes as original.

Re: 1913 body striping
I've seen plenty of early 1913 cars. and none have ever had striping. As far as I know, the only 1913 models that had striping were the ones built in 1912, and that includes the blue paint too.

Re: 1913 body striping
I'm sure you're right Larry. The only striping I've seen on 1913 "style" cars has been in old photos; no telling the build date, or the color, either. For that matter, pix showing striping are might scarce !! Using period photos as an indication, striping on wheel spokes appears to have been common for a good, long span of time. Any wisdom as to the dates when that was discontinued ?

Re: 1913 body striping
This is perhaps the clearest photo I have a '13....definitely no striping on the runabout body...but definitely on the wheels.

This one is relatively clear as well...no body stripes, but you can see them on the wheels.

Re: 1913 body striping
My car was built in late September early October of 1912, and was striped, and it was painted blue. I had this photo colourized and it comes out blue but I don’t have that photo handy. This picture is from 1929, original owners daughters wedding. I’ve posted it a million times
1913 Canadian Touring & 1905 Queen, both cars are 4 generation family owned cars
