TT latch spring

Post by Ottoparts » Sat Jan 19, 2019 1:51 pm

Started working on my latches for my TT doors. That was fun and itself. The latches are now tore apart, unfrozen and glass beaded to remove rust. I bought a door latch kit thinking that the springs or the same. As you can see in the attached pictures they indeed are not. I'm not having any luck so do any of you out there know of a place that sells TT door latch springs?

I can't tell which spring you need?
Just show the one you want. Then show it with a coin the same size as the "snail" part. Also, measure the steel spring stock dimensions so it will fit into the mechanism. I have some trays of door lock spring assortments for cars of the 20's, 30's and 40's.
For example, I have found that a spring for a 1939 Chrysler works perfectly in the latch on 1914 touring and roadster.

I'm not sure what you mean by measure the stock spring. I did take pictures with a quarter. The quarter is on top, besides, and underneath the spring.
