I recently purchased a Model T in Delaware at an estate sale.
The 88 year old previous owner had bought this car in Tennessee, when he was in college, back in 1947.
I was given the Delaware title, signed by his widow, and a signed and notarized copy of her authorization to settle the estate, along with a photo copy of the original Tennessee title.
The Delaware title did not show the correct serial number, but had a DMV2101 number there instead.
Why would that original number that is clearly visible on the engine not be used on the title?

Re: Delaware Title Question
Doesn't matter. Just find the form and procedures (in your state) to correct the VIN error. Unless the title application provides for VIN corrections you'll probably have to obtain a title issued by your state, in your name with same error before they can correct the mistake.
