Pretty excited about our new accessory offering. We do these things to keep busy, stay active, stay out of wifeys hair and the bar, and of course to make a buck or two. I thought I’d throw this out with a clue or three. The first to guess correctly HERE will get the first one FREE. 1) they are at the powdercoater right now, should be done in a couple days. 2) it’s an aftermarket accessory, but even the Original Smiths of the hobby MIGHT want one. 3) it’s smaller than a breadbox ( that should eliminate anyone under 50! ) First to guess correctly will get #1 FREE postpaid. PLEASE, NO EMAILS,PHONE CALLS,PMS,PMS REQUESTS, TELEGRAPH MESSAGES,SMOKE SIGNALS OR KNOCKS ON MY DOOR.

Geez! How about a little clue other than size, like what part of the car it's associated with?

Smith's... it's not a Form-a-Jack, is it? (Godawful screw jack things that were the scourge of british car owners in the 50's...)

I like the idea of a combo oil/water pump that runs off the mag, combined with a rectifier and regulator so you can charge a battery from the mag.

How's that? Am I close? --lol--

Based on size it would be possible to be brackets for stabilizing/reinforcing a wishbone but not the entire wishbone. Next down on size would be a battery box on the running board but thats questionable. A hand brake extension would be small enough and something I could see being more acceptable for purists.

It is either a copy of a original design water pump or a copy of an original firewall mounted Marvel Mystery Oil reservoir with all fittings and tubing to hook up directly to the engine.

I don't have one, but it's powder coated and just in time for Christmas, so I really need this......... whatever it is.

If I have to guess, I'll go with an air foil to keep the rear of the car fixed on the ground at high speeds.

If Larry would even like it, must be small cans of 100 year old air for the tires. Where did you ever find the air Tim?

Hmm,the only thing I can think of that Larry would use (and mostly because CA state law says we should have one) is a driver's side rearview mirror.
Will be interesting to find out what it really is!

Lol.

Variable valve timing
Emission controls
Dashboard Totally integrated power modules (TIPM)
Limited slip thrust washers
E85 compliant carbs

The possibilities are endless.

I have thought about doing variable valve timing. The concept has merit!

I had to go slowly through all the great responses. Nobody has got it yet. Lots of great ideas, but so far only Timmy Moore knows,so he will get #2 gratis. Oh, by the way Tim, they will be any color you want as long as it’s black! That’s clue number 4. #1 is still reserved for the right answer posted here.

Bingo ! Dan will be getting one in the mail. A faithful reproduction of a spring loaded oil can holder. Just recd a message they are ready to snag at the powdercoat, so will post a picture of our new baby. Later ,a full spiel will be posted in the classifieds. Thanks for all the great guesses , maybe some new ideas for others. AND , if Original Larry Smith would even use one, I’ll send him one free, too. HAPPY HALLOWEEN !

Nope, no ‘forum leaks’ This forum ain’t like DC!

Just serious thoughts on a desired accessory many T owners would like or need to like as the oil can came with the car’s tool set and no place to store it other than garage shelf. The last guess of the screwdriver with the earlier tool kits made my brain fart happen!

Thanks Tim!! Will use that accessory, now thinking best spot to drill holes in the firewall :)

Got my Major Award last week from Tim.

What a great accessory! Tim did a terrific job of recreating the spring loaded version of the firewall mount oil can holder.

The spring is good and strong, can won't work loose and holds firm.

Thanks Tim! and thanks for offering these to others, will put mine to use :D
