26 COUPE - SHOULD RUN - NEEDS VERY LITTLE TO DRIVE

Post by StanHowe » Mon Nov 04, 2019 2:51 pm

Stole this off facebook this morning. Have no idea where it is but looks like a ghost town somewhere. Also looks about like where I grew up except the house is better here.

Notice that it has 30 x 3 1/2's on it, must have been one of the no-starter cars.

It's a cool picture.

Great picture.
That car has a starter since it has an electric tail light and a non starter car would have an oil tail lamp. Doubt any of the closed cars were non starters as there was no provisions for oil side or tail lamps.

I believe the non starter cars had magneto lights. I have seen several non-starter cars as produced. They had 30 x 3 1/2 wheels and tires and no oil lamps anywhere. But............ As always, I could be wrong. As I recall the non-starter trucks, of which there were a lot, had oil lamps but if the cars ever did, I've never seen them.

Gord Koll should weigh in here. He had a 26 or 27 roadster that was factory no starter.

Stan, I have seen the ’26 coupe pictured. It is located in Goldfield, Nevada.
