Aluminum pipe. Yay or Nay?

Is there measureable difference for those using the finned aluminum pipe (or cheap no finned pipe)? I assume there is when using a steal pipe depending on flow of coolant on a non-water pump T. Im using a rubber flex pipe and I’m not concerned with imagine for this hodge podge truck. Just functionality

There is no restriction in flow so to speak I have ever notice. Look at the engine block where the water neck attaches will give you the best idea as it has some casting restriction there.

However, you followed up with facts that did not go with the question: I would think that a corregated rubber pipe would introduce unwanted turbulence to the flow of the water (during thermo-syphon) and if unsupported by an interior coil spring and used with a water pump, could colapse a little and really restrict things. Anything that replaces the rubber pipe is an improvement.

After reading my initial post, it’s confirmation I can’t watch the football game and type a full thought at the same time
What I was trying to ask was the measurable effects on cooling the coolant further with the finned aluminum pipe (or straight and cheaper aluminum pipe) vs my rubber flex hose.

Ryan the finned aluminum pipe is just for show IMHO and yes I have one on my speedster cheers pete

The coolant is coming Out of the radiator and running through the pipe to the block. The coolant should already have the heat removed at that point. If it doesn’t, then your radiator isn’t removing heat from the coolant and dissipating it to the air passing through the tubes and fins of the radiator. So the aluminum pipe isn’t going to do much other than look neat as previously suggested.
My touring car on the hottest of days with a Brass Works radiator running antifreeze removes heat to where the return pipe isn’t much hotter than ambient temps. The pipe can be touched by hand with no discomfort.
