Is anybody running 3.33 or 3.25 rear end gears in their car?
My 1923 roadster will be getting a Ruckstell within the next couple years, and I was thinking of installing taller rear axle gears than 3.63:1. The temporary motor has aluminum pistons, Waukesha head, cam with greater lift, and a high volume intake manifold. The eventual motor will have a Rajo F head and SCAT crank. If anyone's running a similar setup with 3.33:1 or 3.25:1 rear end gears, I'd love to hear your experiences with cruising speed, acceleration, and uphill torque.
Thanks!

Re: 3.33:1 or 3.25:1 gears in a roadster?
I run a similar engine (less the cam), and 3:1 gears with a Ruckstel. I have no problems with my 24 touring pulling most hills around here in direct. I think (especially after the new engine),
You will be happy with the 3.25:1.
My opinion and about a dollar will get you a cup of coffee.

I think either would be ideal with a Ruckstel and a peppy engine in a light car.

Go for it! 3.25:1 works great in my roadster.
