For several days now there's been a raging bushfire nearby to Frank's place in Victoria.
Just now I've noticed its been raised to "Emergency" status.
I hope he, his lot and his T's are all OK.

Some reports say that Firefighters have had to retreat...

No Problem Rob for Frank. The fire is moving away from his house and the township in a Sth Westerly direction. The fire was burning in a largely uninhabited area which included National park etc. Unfortunately it is now moving towards farms and residents have been advised to evacuate.Just enjoyed a cold beer with Frank and discussed why he cant log on to the new forum. You will hear from him again as soon as he is able. He will be keen to "discuss" some more with Hans about Tarrant and Duncan & Fraser!

Hi,
I have just had this email message from Frank and as aussie16 says, all is OK.
Cheers,
Rob
Hi Rob,
Thanks for you concerns, at this stage the fires are of no threat only
burning bush park land and pine plantations, no lose of housing etc, a
back burn seems to be the most concern that has got a little out of hand
several k's away.
I'm having trouble registering on the new forum at this stage, have
asked for Chris's help on that one.
Any way all's well.
Regards. Frank.

Over the registration problem so test post.
A bit smokey today but no wind as yet to be of any threat.

Still burning, 32,000 acres so far, it amazes me how many government departments and staff it takes to monitor this fire, they nearly out number the poor buggers fighting it!
