Snow, good or bad?
After 5 inches of snow, I went to work and shoveled out an 1800 sqft house I am building. Walls up, ready for trusses. BAD!
I know some have to put the T up for winter due to cold, salt,ect... I have to keep mine at the ready. Living in the country and on a gravel road meens no salt. Lots of open pasture lends itself for winter games. The grandkids wanted to go sledding tonight? Paw Paw cant refuse granting their wishes. After all it is our right to spoil them. Usually when the snow is deep, the 4 wheeler fills this bill but its only about 5 inches !
Sooo! Loading up Headed to the pasure And we're off! Round and round Sun is going down and the chill of 18 degrees is setting in.

This time of year there is nothing like a T in the snow.
Thank you for the participation.

When did I do that?

Re: Snow, good or bad?
Rich, I thought low band took a dump. The engine rev but no go in low. Turns out the rear wheel was spinning! Not a problem often encountered with 20hp. My 275 lb son hopped in the back and we were off again!

Re: Snow, good or bad?
When I was a kid we'd load all the neighborhood kids in my dad's bobsleigh pulled by a team of horses. We'd tie a couple of long ropes from the back of the sleigh and hook several sleds to them. We'd run thru fields or down back roads when the snow was deep enough to cover the gravel. It was great fun!
I've never had my T in the snow and don't know for sure if I will. No top or heater, wimpy old guy for a driver.... If I had grand kids, things might be different
On a slightly different subject - today I used my old Ford tractor to plow the foot plus of snow that fell yesterday - this was the first time I've plowed since I broke my leg doing the same thing last January.... you better believe I paid attention to where I placed my feet.

That was Daisy. She was a real sweetheart. It looks like she did go outside before I closed the door.
She liked to help me collect firewood.

Dogs, grandkids and Model T's....pretty much all a guy needs.
I have two out three. I'm hoping for the trifecta before too long.

Re: Snow, good or bad?
Snow being either good or bad depends on the amount received and when. If the crops are still in the field a little can go along way. When you only get a little and you wonder why the combines are not running,it is because when a slight amount of snow hits the fan it will melt causing ice to freeze on the sives and that can be a real mess!!!!! Skidding logs in snow will keep them clean and dragging a fuel oil hose is easy and it covers up dog poop!A little snow on a icy road will give better traction. Makes a nice picture if YOU do not have to deal with it!!! Bud.

Dallas - what a beautiful photo! Thanks for sharing.
Bud - we've still got a lot of crops in the fields and the foot of snow we got has put a stop to the harvest for now. It's been a rough year for farmers in my area.

C'mon Bud, hop in with Dave and come on down! After sledding we can carry corn to the house for the stove. Warm up twice that way.
