Posting for an acquaintance who would like to know if this is or could have been used on a WW I ambulance. Any feedback you could provide on the age and usages for the lamp would be appreciated. The owner (Steve Blackbourn) isn't a T guy and not a member of the forum so please contact him directly if possible at 206.979.1712 or steve at windermere dot com

Gut feeling is; from different of car or truck during WW1 overseas or here at home. The images I took a look at from the era on the front, have what looks to be the standard Ford cowl lamp. Dietz was not a brand used by Ford. Now if you have a pair, and were building a replica, maybe 90+% of the people looking would not know the difference so I would use them. If you only have 1 then I would look for correct pair of Ford side lamps, they are not that hard to find. Maybe a lot harder to find a mate with the mounting bracket on the correct side of the one shown esp in that great of condition.

What I thought a bit interesting is that this one has two mounting brackets, one on each side. I haven't seen that on a T but I'm not real familiar with lamps on the earlier cars.

Could have been mounted in a fork type bracket or could have been used on ether side, I didn't even see that till you called it out.

As mentioned before by others definitely not a T ambulance light, but might be used on the bigger standard GMC ambulance, but i'm not very well informed about them to know for sure, could have been used on any US Army car or truck from the era.
All you can do is search the internet for period photo's of military cars and trucks of the day and have a good look, the double mounting should be a good way to identify..
