I have a '27 Fordor and it has the HPxxxxx number in the same place that you describe. There was a post about this several years ago and the HP does refer to the Highland Park plant. The rest of the number is apparently just the body number. I once saw a '27 Fordor in New Mexico and it had a KCxxxxx on the same place on the body, the KC apparently standing for the Kansas City plant.

Can any other Fordor owners check their body for this number and report back? It would be interesting to get a wide variety of letters in this area that correspond to Ford factories.
