I've been searching the forum for a photo of wire routing from Starter to Starter Switch and cannot find. The new wire from Lang's appears to be a few inches too long and I cannot figure where to route to avoid the emergency brake. Any ideas? My '24 Roadster is getting close to starting for the first time in 50 years!!!

Thanks Mark. Going to work on tomorrow. Will fiddle around with it and take a photo. I hate the thought of putting a zip tie to hold it astride the rails.

Shorten it up to the proper length & re-solder the lug back on.

With the wire a few inches longer it might be a good time to add Ford tractor starter solenoid. Just a thought.

Possibly made longer to suit the RHD models?

That p/# 5051, Switch to Starter Motor cable should be 28" length. Of course it's run thru the 5051B loom, so you need the length to be able to lay the loom with the starter cable, yellow battery wire and tail light wire inside that loom inside the frame rail to stay clear of the handbrake lever quadrant. Then loop the loom over the crankcase arm to have the cable go to the starter. Haven't had any problems with vendor wires.

Note: In this photo, the loom is moved up, to allow hand room for some final assembly of the motor and pieces, normally the loom rides most of the way inside the frame rail, then bent up some at the crankcase arm and angled as needed to clear pedals and quadrant. That nice thick, tar stiff fabric loom is useful here to keep the starter cable where you want it, and protect it from rubbing on pedals, floorboard, or frame as your T shakes it's way down the road

I hope you get it fixed. I've had problems with repro wiring, and have had a local company duplicate the original Ford wiring so it fits.
