I'm sure this topic has been covered before. I am looking for drawings/ideas to build a fixture to set up the rear axle and driveshaft assembly.
Is there something in the Ford Service bulletins? Thank you for your help, Jim.

I used the jawhorse and fixture to overhaul mine and it worked very well, was steady and stored well when finished,

Mine is similar. The opening is 3" x 7".

Mine is different but the same. Bigger opening where the pumpkin sits.

Jim, The Ford Service Bulletins do have plans for a rear axle and drive shaft assembly stand that is made from 2x4's. Vol 1 pg 78 if someone can post it.

Bought a 8ft 2x6, cut in half and biscuit joined the halves and did the cut out, set on power miter-box stand- with clamps, easy to store.
Setup an old axle for peening. Threaded rod for pressing in the bushing - wrapped some cardboard around the rod o keep it centered in the new busing and used an old one to to clear ball cap end. Only intending o do just one.

I dislike the one from the service bulletin. It's a space waster.
Here's what I use. It's made from scrap lumber. I think I may have spent $2 on hardware.
