Gasket board save

A shout out to brother Dave Hanlon and his daddy for saving this piece. He sold it to me nearly 2 years ago, practically gave it to me because it was in shreds, and actually in two pieces. The fact is, they saved it until I brought it home for some TLC. It’s made of some sort of very early homesote , with a rag paper artwork and bare steel hangers. It wasn’t meant to survive a decade but it did. It has survived a hundred years now. I don’t really want to think of the hours I wasted but finally able to hang and fill up with old gaskets. Another shoutout to Larry Gresh, Joe Bell, and again, Dave Hanlon for providing me with lots of worn out and shrunk gaskets, perfect for display. Thought I would share.

Drag old, cool stuff home and fix it up to hang on the wall or use ? What kind
of nonsense is that ?
Brought this one home last weekend for restoration:
This one finally got installed a few weeks ago

It’s yours, Dave. Set that $20 aside for me. Of course, you can pay the labor, too. I’ll add it up and get back.
Forgot to mention my Model T mentor of almost 50 years, Joe Andulics. The best advice he always gives me is “don’t overthink it, it’s just a T”

Very nice. My favorite projects are like this project. Bringing something back from the dead is always a good feeling.

Tim, thanks for the kind words. I wish you wouldn't have reminder me that's it's been 50 years. Time sure does fly by. As far as keeping things simple, someone wise (who I'm sure never road in a Model T ) said "Keep it simple and focus on what matters. Don't let yourself be overwhelmed". Confucius

I’m thinking about 3 days labor Tim....at HF wages of $5 per day, sounds fair.
