Old Photos: Model T’s Including a Bus
Here are three more original Model T photo antique shop finds. The notation on the back of the bus photo is interesting. It reads, “Calling on Miss Marion Wood & her father in Lakeland, Fla.”

The bus is interesting. Looks really long. I imagine it's one of the period Model T truck kits, not a TT. Hard to tell for sure, but the wheels look like they have 5 lugs.
Thanks for posting. Period photos are always fun!

Re: Old Photos: Model T’s Including a Bus
Would that be a battery/box or auxiliary transmission hanging down about half way back? My guess is battery/box thus making it a car and not a TT as Henry surmised.

Perhaps it is the trunk of that tree behind the vehicle and not part of the TT at all.
Never the less, it is a fine photo and the house is so reminiscent of those old places.
Thanks
Rich

I took a closer look at the bus photo under a magnifying glass and the "box" under the middle is the base of the tree behind it. Yes, the wheels are 5-lug type.

Re: Old Photos: Model T’s Including a Bus
Well, that's embarrassing. I didn't think the size of the trunk above the truck and through the window was going to be as large as it is under the truck. Wow! Old guy can't tell the difference between a tree trunk and a T part.
Thanks for the help guys. Seems I need more than I used to.
Good Luck,
Terry Miller

Terry, I do have a slight advantage on this end: the original photo and a very strong magnifying glass to study it. Even so, it took a me while to figure out what the box was. I think it was a good question on your part. Regards, Joe

Not at all Terry. These old photos like to play tricks on us and that is half the fun. It may not be the tree trunk as it does look too large but it may well be.

Re: Old Photos: Model T’s Including a Bus
Enlarged that T long depot hack, seems more like a camper body, hauling a lot of stuff, drop curtain the whole length for privacy, missing doors that a bus would need. Can't tell the rear axle but seems it is an extended T chassis, appears to be stock battery tray under the chassis making this a starter T. Tree in yard too far way, and isn't planted in the grass strip by the curb.

I wonder if that bus body is a professionally made body? It kind of looks home made to me.

Larry - I agree with you,....the body is not particularly "beautiful", but looks more like something I would build,.....not "beautiful", but "hell-fer'-stout"!
