I have never changed one, but I am looking for the "dos / don'ts and how tos". Any help / advice would be greatly appreciated. This is on a RHD. I would think that the bushings would be the same? Thanks in advance.

Early cars used 2 bushings - later to '25 used one - '26 - '27 used a different size - what year bracket you replacing ?

Easy enough to do unless the steering shaft itself is worn. If that is the case the shaft may need to be replaced or turned down to the diameter where the shaft is worn. Otherwise, if you ream the bushing so you can get the shaft in the bracket it will be loose when the part of the shaft that is worn is in the bushing.

do not fail to finally, install a felt "seal" at the top of the housing to slow the loss of grease when the grease cup is turned down. I do not see that in the article Dan referenced.

I have no idea as to the year. I haven't taken old bushing out yet and was planning on buying both sizes. The outside diameter appears to be the same and I haven't checked the steering column diameter either. Many thanks.

OD of 09-25 is 1" and those years use two bushings
OD of 26-26 is 7/8" and those years use one bushing

should be easy enough to check without having to order extra bushings. I understand it's RHD, but it really isn't that hard to tell years apart, is it? Improved cars are considerably different from earlier cars...

Contrary to what Steve mentioned, the early cars used one bushing, the same length as the bracket.

I stand corrected Larry - I've replaced early bracket bushing with 2 as the single is not available - this CRS is getting troublesome !

I was technically wrong, 09 to about 14/15 used one long bushing, and then they went to two shorter bushings (26-27 uses different, single bushing). Even so, I do not believe that anyone is selling the "correct" bushing for 09-15, and like Steve said, the double/shorter bushings work just fine. The correct bushing can be no doubt purchased from any bearing supplier. A cast bronze bushing would be what you want, and then be sure to drill for the grease fitting post-install...and again, remember to put in the felt seal after reaming, and prior to sliding the steering shaft in

Thanks again. I am attempting to build a RHD speedster. I have most of the big cast pieces located, but will try to fabricate the smaller pieces.

In previous post, I forgot to mention that this is a project built with parts and pieces scrounged out of my vineyard and garage attic. No particular year except for drive train.

Does it look like any of these LHD. The one on the far right of the top picture is 26-27
