NH Straight Through ID

Went out today to buy a front axle assembly I found on Craigslist. There was also a nice frame and a rear axle for a TT, but I went for the front axle assembly. While I was there I found a straight through carburetor and bought that too.

I cleaned it up to evaluate the condition and found this cast-in letter G. Anyone know what that G means. The name plate was torn off.

No idea on what the G means, but have seen it on quite a few of the Holley straight throughs.

Most likely a casting identification - an "early" straight bore NH has cast throttle & choke arms & a brass button vent where the patent plate would be.

Mark, I think your find is a later version of the straigbt through NH. These had the name plate over the vent rather tban the screw in vent. Nice find.
