Hello all !
I have a 24 tudor with a standard holley nh and would like to know what difference a straight through nh carb would be in performance ?

The straight through will in all likelihood be slightly harder starting, which will be invisible on a starter-equipped car, and has the potential to provide performance improvement that spans from negligible to modest. A properly rebuilt swayback standard NH will run rings around a poorly or improperly rebuilt straight-through carb, so just swapping carbs is not a certain path to a hotrod. My statement above regarding performance assumes two carbs equally properly rebuilt and adjusted correctly. The straight-through will be far less forgiving of a faulty float level and in my opinion, performs/starts easiest if the float is set to the high side.

Thanks Scott for the reply! At this point i think i'll leave it the way it is . the car runs so great. has probably the most power a stock t can have. spark plugs are burning light brown and no oil on them. BUT! For the life of me i don't have the cold start up figured out using the hand crank. I don't think there is a carb issue ' it will start instantly with the electric starter when cold so it must be something i am doing wrong

My experiance on them is they are harder starting, cold hearted but if you are on the high end of performance they do increase a little bit, The OS stromberg was more of an improvement but did not want to spend the big money to get rid of the sinus drip it had.
