Reflectors are silver plated. If the plating is intact, they will clean up like a mirror with silver polish.

Rubbing with silver polish, try to not rub in circles as that affects the reflective image.

If you plan on driving your car at night, the new reflectors available from the vendors with the vacuum metalized aluminum coating work very well and do not need polishing. Snyders also now sells headlight bulbs that the filaments are horizontal when installed. This makes it possible to properly focus the headlight beam.

An object lesson. The left reflector is an original silvered one in tolerable shape. The right reflector is one of the aluminum coated ones from Lang's. It's a world of difference, and I'll know in a few days how much difference it'll make. And of course, check that you have good grounds.

Buddy...if you’d like to sell the used one on the left, I’d be interested in it.

It matches my decent reflector and I don’t drive my car at night.
