26 Roadster cab/seat help

I’m putting together a RPU just about from pieces, and some were not together when I started so I don’t have “taking apart” pictures to refer to. I’ve patch paneled cab sides and cowl bottom edges and am now trying to cobble it together with original and Howells replacement pieces. Looked all over the forums for “naked” cab pictures and found a few and actually got some help from Craigslist ads for parts. Now trying to put the seat frame in, the replacement seat frame has the ears that go behind the door latch side, but I also have the original seat brackets for that location. I reckon all this was riveted together and on at one point, but other than an extra stiffener and attachment point to the body subframe, what are all the extra holes in this bracket for, and along those lines, what are all the extra holes in the cab sides for? Attachment points for upholstery side panels?

Here’s the passenger door jam holes..??.....[image]

A couple shots of the bracket...I know the bottom holes enables the sill plate screw to go thru, and the tabs attach to the seat frame and the sub frame...the others?

ALL these holes up the inside of the cab door frame....possible brackets to go to the back to fasten side panels? Wood?

So if I cut away the seat frame tab to match this original bracket, drill out the rest of the holes for...?? Is the top one possibly to fasten the bracket to the door frame?

Thanks Bill! Can you tell me what all the holes up and down the cab door jamb are for? Is there any trim wood in that jamb or around the seat frame...i.e. more structure that the side panels might attach to? I think I’ve seen pictures of like 2” metal strips running from the jamb to the seat back panel bolts....

After some extensive forum searches, I came up with some more photos of naked roadster interiors...

These two interiors have just a metal strip in the cab side, although the second one has a wood block AT and IN the seat frame:

These two have wood surrounding the whole cab side hollow, and no metal strip....are BOTH correct?

Big time! There IS some wood behind that pillar since those look like tacks holding that trim panel on. And I reckon the metal strips in the pictures above could possibly be a support piece for that trim panel to not be pushed in. Any idea what the hole above the door latch is for, looks like a grommet in it?
Thanks a bunch!

Yes the big hole has a rubber grommet in it. And you are right about the wood behind that hole. My pillar seems to miss on smal hole just above the latch .

I just have to add that I have not the faintest idea what the big hole are good for or if the rubber grommet is original.

Hi, In response to your questions about the holes in the door jam, there Is wood on the inside to stiffin the door jam and act as a tack strip for the cardboard interior panels. If you have more questions or need more pictures let me know.

Thanks a bunch guys! I’ll attach the seat bracket to my replacement seat pan for an additional attachment point and to stiffen it up. I’ll also cobble up some wood pieces to stiffen the jamb and give me a tack board. The pictures also show me that the bracket has the same flat head screws holding that seat bracket to the jamb low down by the sill plate.

Hi again. Been thinking about the mystery hole (the big hole above the door latch striker . Could it be for a rubber "cushion" or rubber knob to keep the door from rattling ? Something like the rubber knobs in the lower left and right side under the turtle deck lid. Just a thought.

A tubeless tire valve will fit nicely in that hole and if need be you can trim a little off the end for a better fit.

Thanks to all again, my cab wood from fordwood is on its way, and the seat pan and seat back are in after only 15-20 tries for fitting! Yikes!
