Steering Gears, How do I distinguish different early from later gears?

I have a 1910 Touring, How do I tell the difference between the various configurations of gears? I want to change the steering column shaft and want to be sure to have the correct combination of gears & Shaft. I understand the early cars had a different pressure angle and perhaps different spacing between the steering gear pins. Are the Steering gears different diameters between the early & later versions? If so, can you tell me the sizes?
Thanks,
Dave

Take a look at June 26: https://www.mtfca.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=4747

quick and dirty is to look at the steering wheel pinion...if it is basically the same size as the planetary gears, it's early.
