I need to replace my brake cam bushings and need to decide if I need to replace the cams too. Does anyone know what the thickness of the cam head should be? I can measure the shafts for wear but I don't have a reference for cam thickness.

I measured a set of new ones at .740" and a nice original one at .752".

Anyone know if the new pinned brake cams are providing good service? I hear the earlier replacements were splined and didn’t do well…

Don't know yet, ask in a few years!

Just got a set to install on customer's car. They will just be operating as parking brakes. I was glad to see they were pined, was going to do that if not.

In light of the problems with the two piece repops, I would be chucking the shaft in the lathe, machining a substantial grove around the shaft and cam interface, and adding a substantial weld to further unite the two components.
