Did anyone notice what that early Ford Buckeye jack sold for on ebay yesterday? Over $1,000!

I'm watching (but won't be bidding on) the Ford screwdriver currently for auction there to see how high it goes.

Thank you Larry. Its identical to ours except ours says Alliance, Ohio on reverse.

The one that sold has to be pre 1910.

The Buckeye Jack Manufacturing Company, owing to an increase in business, have been forced to seek larger quarters, and on January first removed their plant from Louisville. Ohio, to Alliance, Ohio.

$1066.00, I wish I had a few to sell ! I bid on it but was out a grand ago,,,,,,,,

Now all the guy needs is the $500 handle to go with it.......

Met “Yukon Jack” a couple times...

I've never seen a date attributed to the block-lettered early Ford jacks. Charles Little's detective work has dated the jack with FORD DETROIT in block letters as 1910 vintage. My FORD DETROIT jack is lettered "Buckeye Alliance Ohio".

My question is - what year is the "other" black lettered FORD jack? The one we have has no manufacturer's identification. The only lettering on the jack is 'FORD' and No. 00. I wonder if it is a Buckeye jack? The Buckeye handle fits both jacks. This jack seems to be the more common.

The Buckeye jacks with the Ford in block letters, and the number 00 were painted silver. The reproduction handles work quite well, but require a lot of fitting, and filing.

Does anyone know that they are made by Buckeye ?

I have several Ford 00 jacks and they are marked Buckeye, Alliance OH

Thanks Charles . Yours is the same but with all those words on the reverse. Since the silver jacks were made in Alliance, they must have been used on fords in the early teens.

Ford started to supply jacks in 1913, along with top boots. I have always assumed that these were the ones until about 1916-17 when the common one with integral handle replaced it. The parts check lists that listed what was supplied with the cars for 1913 and 14 list a jack and handle, not with handle.
