What shackle is this?

Today, I removed the shackles from my 26 RPU. These don't look like any shackle that I've seen before. Can anyone identify them- I'm suspecting they are not for a Ford. Or, maybe a re-pop from the past. Note that each shackle has 4 nuts.

They look like modern replacements to me. They may work fine as long as you have oilers on your springs and perches, they just won't look OEM.

The design with nuts and cotter pins on both ends looks stronger to me than some of the modern repops with pressed-in splined shafts on one end. Those can loosen and fall apart over time.

I was thinking they might be the type with the rubber inserts or something like this;

This is the correct type of shackle for 1926, but you should find better ones than this. :)

Many moons ago, I needed shackles for a 1928 Model A, and they were apparently made from unobtainium. I made my own in exactly the form of those that you illustrate, Bill. They might be 'home made' ones.

I plan on re-using the shackle set. Having owned the truck for many years and having removed the axle several times, I have never noticed that the shackles were any different from any other type on any of my other T's. But, when I had one of those cheapo knurled type shackles fail on me- I now look them over REAL GOOD. And, I notice all of the differences. The forged type is now my shackle-of-choice.
This set of shackles has served me well, so they are going back on the truck whenever my new Ruckstell from Chaffin's makes it to me.

Not manufactured IMHO. The flat bar stock has all the earmarks of back-yard blacksmithing but the threaded items have been neatly machined. Certainly a better “fix” than poorly made reproduction shackles that many have reported fail in a short while. You may want to re-make the turned pieces that are worn off center. I’d re-use them too ! :D

The V8s used these with a nut at each end. Would those be a transition to that?
