I figured if it was closed over the driver it was a town car and open it was a Laundalet, during that era. (I think the 1908 catalog, Ford, shows it that way)
The original enclosed town car was carried by two or more people who were out in the open, also called a sedan chair. Of course the sedan chair got more doors to haul the family but was getting a little heavy for a couple of guys to carry as was the Town car so the Model T was invented!
Around 1928 or so seems they were called Town car with no permanent roof over the driver and limo if it had one and the driver was closed off, in both cases, from the rear passenger.
Only my OP others will differ.

Great picture !, looks like they repurposed an old taxi into a delivery 'van', that towncar sure looks like it has some miles on it since new... ;)

Great photo Herb....have not seen this one before. Curious whether this is an 09 or 10? Early photos show this body with furnished both standard Touring style handles, and also Bale handles. Could have been dictated by the body supplier I guess....anyone have data on this?
Regards,
Scott

The Town Car photo Scott posted above was in the New York Auto show that ran from December 31, 1908 through January 7, 1909.
Ford had all five body styles shown. The Coupe and Touring car are behind the Town Car, Roadster and Laundaulet.
The row of Fords along the aisle are two-pedal so I imagine the Coupe and Touring were as well.
Here is a little different angle showing the Town Car Scott posted at the left.
