Made a cam seal because nobody has anything imperial in stock and importing them is too difficult.
The photo should be fairly self evident how it was formed.

I've had the two windscreen halves out of Henrietta. The bottom one now has a new rubber draft/rain deflector strip over the cowl. The top one needed to have a badly aligned windscreen wiper attended to. I made a custom bushing and filed the mis-drilled hole so the bushing was square with the glass. This was soft soldered in place to hold it and seal it in the frame. I touched up the solder with some flat black paint, rubbed it with a finger when it was almost dry, and it looks just like the rest of the paintwork. Now I just need a new wiper blade.

Got my new LED headlight bulbs today.
Put the right one in and WOW. 3X brighter than the one in the left !!
I have had trouble getting the left ring off and found the reflector was turning...I thought I fixed it. Obviously not, cause the ring won't come off again !!
Maybe I can get some pictures at night tomorrow, with the big thaw coming.

Changed from black to something more dazzling!!
What do you think, should I paint the wheel spokes red or leave them natural varnish?

Tom, looking good! We had a club member on Long Island (now deceased) who had a T a lot like yours. We christened it the "desk mobile". He drove it everywhere and it always attracted a crowd!

Thanks, this is a fun build and will be a daily driver. Everything I have done can be easily reversed to make a correct TT, except the spindles have had mounts welded on them for the calipers.
And it does look like a desk! Or maybe a fireplace mantle. But I like a big dashboard.
When I get the lighting done she should be road ready!

I have a collection of electric horns. I will probably mount four or five on each side of the "mantle". The bulb type horns have to closer for easy reach. But I have to get the rest of the electrical first, lots of lights!

Turned on the gas, started right up and drove down and around the corner. Stopped at my neighbor's for a few and brought it home.
New radiator is leak free and she ran great !!

Towed it home after it quit on the road last week. Fuel contamination (again). I have never owned a car with the fuel issues of my '27. Cleaned the fuel strainer, removed the bowl from the NH carburetor. It looked like it went down with the Torrey Canyon. I'm now in the proces of cleaning the fuel system (again). Just got the carb gaskets from Lang's today. Will put everything back together tomorrow.

A while back I posted on the forum that I had managed to repair two loose wooden wheel spokes by using a product called "tight chair". It is supposed to cause the wood to swell and make the joint tight. Although I never had a problem with the spokes I decided last week that I should replace the wheel, which I did yesterday. I sure feel better now as I drive down the road.

Fuel contamination (again).
I suspect it will be again, and again, and again, etc., until you pull the tank and clean it out. I fought that battle until I finally got a new tank. There are no new 26-27 tanks, so cleaning is the only cure. I found that the sediment bulb and a glass bowl didn't keep fine debris from reaching the carburetor and spoiling my fun. When I took the tank out to clean it I found a loose baffle flopping around inside, so replacing the tank was an easy choice.

Putting a Stromberg OS-1 on my Nelly-Bell the Raloo Rocket. I am stuck till the replacement intake gets here so I can hook up the throttle. The one on it, cut down when I installed the VW carb. Will have to put the water pump back on, goes to summer high even on a 30 degree day at idle. Right now I am using a piece of wire to hold the throttle closed.

John: Steve is right about cleaning your tank. If it's easy to take off the car that's great, but if not you can wash it out with water and a pressure nozzle on your hose. Then put a plug in it and pour in ten gallons of distilled white vinegar and let it sit for a week. Check on it from time to time and skim off the sludge that comes to the top and replenish if necessary. Then drain it, wash it out and check the inside with a flashlight. If not shiny clean, repeat the process. Once it suits you fill the tank with clean water and the contents from a box of baking soda and this will neutralize the vinegar. After a day of soaking rinse tank with clean water thoroughly. Then put in a gallon or 2 of E-10 gasoline and swish thoroughly. The alcohol in E-10 will attract and hold the remaining water in suspension and when you drain this mixture out your tank is as good as new. I have done this on numerous hit and miss engines and lots of cars and it really works. I recently did this on a 29 model A pickup where you can't get the tank out easily and as usual, it worked wonderfully. Good luck.

If the plating on the inside of the tank is gone it will just keep rusting. The tank needs to be really cleaned and sealed to prevent further rusting.

Continuation of mechanical inspections and any necessary repair. Preparation of body for painting. These are all performed by a long standing antique car restoration shop in my close proximity. Very fortunate to have these guys near.
After paint I will install an oak pickup bed and upholstery at my home. Hopeful to have it ready for cruising sometime this spring.

PS - pull the tank out of the 26-27 T. Clean with motorcycle tank cleaner - there are lots of brands - and coat. Nothing else will work.

Filled an open seam and ground the weld.
First the die grinder, then the sanding wheel.
Welded shut an unauthorized hole, then filled the dent around it with body solder.

I finished the new trailer with a workbench, an inverter, 3 LED overhead lights, storage, a spare tire (kinda important), gas cans, a fire extinguisher and an electric tounge jack. And fixed all the leaks. Good thing as the drive here was harrowing at times, nasty weather. It was sunny today, but weather is looking iffy for us next week...good thing we rented a car as a backup.
We’re in my office parking lot in Tucson tonite in the RV, ready to drive the last leg to Sierra Vista tomorrow for our first tour!
I gave all my staff rides in the T yesterday and that was a blast.

After letting the 14 sit for a couple of months we finally had a really nice day while we were home with nothing to do - so, turned on the gas, checked to see the float bowl was full by letting a few drops out of the carb, twisted the handle a couple of times, switched to batt and got a free start. It sounded great but after a very short time sputtered and died. Ok, try again - nothing. Cranked a few more times but still nothing. Tried to dribble a few drops at the float bowl again but nothing came out this time - so, thinking some crud somewhere in the system had clogged something, I proceeded to take off the carb and remove the float bowl, etc. (I usually have my Holly NH on it for touring and it's always been reliable). Sure enough, something was plugging the main jet. A quick blast from the compressed air gun cleared it. Checked it out and put it back on, cranked again, still nothing! Good grief-must have been a clogged screen in the sediment bulb! Removed the gas line, blew it out (no blockage there), checked the filter screen and all was good. Puzzled, I tried cranking again but no good - soooooo, I did what I should have done to begin with - I CHECKED THE GAS! Tank was bone dry! What little was in the sediment bulb/line and float bowl got me a free start and enough running time to smooth it out, but it just didn't want to run on air alone! So, put five gallons in thank, started it on the second pull then went for a nice 10 mile run through the neighborhood. Guess I had a memory lapse over these past couple of cold wet months and forgot my own best advice - check the simple stuff first!

Front discs are great, the front wheels do most of the braking! I think you might consider doubling up your wishbone though. It could prevent axle roll in the event of a slam-on-the-brakes stop.

Ellie Mae is coming along.
The run/brake/turn signal lights work!
The headlights are basically where I want them, but they have more vibration than I anticipated. They are mounted on the bar between the two front fenders. Was there a way to minimize the vibration back in the day?

mounting them the way they left the factory would be a start toward reducing vibration from the levels you are now experiencing.

The top lights are mounted on the bar where lights are supposed to mount, which I guess is basically how they would leave the factory. I feel they have excessive vibration.
The lower lights are T headlights mounted upside down on the bar, so they have more vibration at the base than they would have if mounted to the frame like factory, and since their mounting rods are longer they have more vibration than the top lights.
The vibration is mostly side-to-side, not fore-and-aft.
It might not be a big deal since I have not hooked the lights up and used them at night, and I don't know how much vibration is normal for this set up, but I would like to find a way to add support to what I have so I can keep the configuration like it is.

your truck did not leave the factory with that bar nor lights mounted to that bar. If it left the factory with that radiator and those fenders, it is a '24 or '25 and the correct style lights mount on a hole in the fender irons, through the hole in the fender. That radiatior shroud, fenders and coilbox location all combined, would be perfectly correct for late '25. If the truck is late '26-27, based on the coilbox location, then you need the correct front fenders and the correct bar for those years (mid '26 and '27 are the only years for a factory bar between the fenders and lights on that bar). Either way, your vibration will be greatly reduced if it is put back the way it should be.
If you like what you have and don't wish to go stock, then you're going to have to do some serious reinforcing on the fenders as I'm sure you're aware. The bar and it's mounting appear far too flimsy for the amount of weight hung on it.

OK, thanks. I didn't realize the engineering was that complicated. I like the present configuration, so I will hook them up and see how they do at night. I suspect I will be looking for a way to give more support and reduce vibration...
