I have a Sure Mic counterweighted crank I recently retrieved from a estate. Is it a boat anchor or does it have value?

1) measure the journals 2) have it magnafluxed.

-13, -20, -25,-30.

I have one in my 26 and it is smooth. Some have had problems with them but I suspect that if they have lasted 100 years they'll last a few more.

They do crack, so as Dan posted, the first thing is a crack test, if you are not willing to invest or take a chance on doing your money, then the buyer would take that chance, so sort of makes it worthless at a buyers prospective.

If I interpret your undersize measurements correctly, one of the journals is.030” worn.
I make it a policy to not use a crank that is smaller than.020” undersize.
My “rationale” is that the crank has too many “cycles” of use and is beyond its useful fatigue life.
Just my policy.
Additionally I will only use a Sure Mike in a comparably stock configuration engine, not in one significantly “souped up”

I have sure Mic in my 15 touring. My father found this crank in a busted block in the late 50. I just had the motor rebuild 2 years ago by Pats Restoration and it still usable. I don't drive much over 35 mph.
