commutator retainig nut size on NRS

Post by JvanMaanen » Tue Mar 03, 2026 4:39 pm

The commutator roller on my SR is held on with a cotter pin. What is the size of the nut on the camshaft to secure it?. Is it a left hand thread?

thanks

In my spare commutator "stuff" there is a nut which I believe is for the commutator roller. It's left hand and it's 18 pitch. I believe the thread diameter is 9/16, but don't have a cam or a left hand tap handy to confirm it. Therefore, I'm thinking it's a 9/16-18 LH thread.

Thanks Jerry, that is what I thought, so that confirms it.
