“ SOLD”FS 1916 Model T Touring

Post by Dennis Fleming » Sat Mar 13, 2021 2:59 pm

This is a very good running car. This is a March of 1916 engine #. 4 New Calimer’s Wheel Shop wheels and new tires, Brassworks flat tube radiator and new gas tank. Body has been painted years ago. Original and very good wood , no body rustout or repair that I can see. I am listing this car for a good friends widow. The engine and trans is a total rebuild by a reputable local builder and has been equipped with a starter. The current owner has fabricated the generator setup and it works well. New top but does need some finish work. Car runs and drives great. Asking $15000.00. I am listing this for the owner and have no interest in it. Thank you and if interested I can make arrangement to see and inspect the car. Good title with this car.

I am no expert on Model T's but am trying to learn as much as I can before I purchase one. My question is - if the Mag works great, why would the current owner rig up a generator. Shouldn't the mag generate enough juice to power the lights and spark plugs?

The generator is there to charge the battery. He had installed a 6 volt battery in the usual location on the latter cars( under the rear floorboards ). As stated in the original post the car is equipped with a starter.

As far as I know the bands were replaced when the engine was rebuilt.

Can we arrange a time prior to that event? I have another obligation for the weekend of May 14-16. Otherwise, it looks to be a great event.

He's a troll, Dennis.
His next email will be to say he can't make it and he'll buy it sight-unseen; he'll send you a rubber check large enough to cover the car and transportation.

Turnip Truck

Post by Novice » Tue Apr 27, 2021 11:31 pm

He just registered on the forum today. no clubs listed or model Ts owned. Same day registration and offer is always suspect.
But then he could have just fallen off the Turnip truck with a wad of Cash. Seller Beware
