1925 Model TT and 1916 Model T selling for $5!!! Visalia California
I came across an online auction with two Model Ts that ends Tuesday. The bid right now is $5 each!

1916 cutoff Touring

I am sure that you could find some issues with both. If the bid says this low I will be bidding!

The winning bid is responsible fir 8.5% sales tax and 18% to the auctioneer. What a deal. These are 1916 prices.

I don't know about CA. But on Texas motor vehicles sold at auction or outright. You pay state tax only when You register the vehicle. 6.25%. local taxes can run another 2% but are not charged. Texas has a presumptive vehicle tax chart they go by and if You pay less than 80% of what they say its worth they charge You the difference. or what You paid for it which ever is more. unless You get a auto appraisal or a licensed car dealer sells it then they can say its worth what ever they want to and the state accepts it. auto dealer's in Texas have a lot of lobbyist and legislators on the pay roll.

Does anyone know what they went for? The auction listing does not show the winning bid amount.

The TT sold for $5500.00 and the "1916" cut-off went for $3500.00. Plus 8 1/2 percent sales tax and 18 percent buyer's premium!!

If the TT did not require major work, I would say it was well bought.
Finding a nicely patinaed oldie is tough. Most are either "made nice"
or field relics.

TT would be $6,957.50 and cut-off would be $4,427.50 in real auction dollars.

IF they had valid titles, those are fair prices, BUT if not, welcome to the CA DMV pit & pendulum.
