An interesting vehicle. Compare the , as found photo, with the rebuilt. photo. The tour about body is known as a 1910 model. This T was built in June, 1909. The resent photo shows numerous 1909 features. It would be interestingly know to what is original to this T and what was added or replaced. It would be a fun car to own and is worth the price.

It would be interesting to see a copy of the original build sheet.

Re: 1909 Tourabout - Photos Added
I believe this is one of the first Tour-a-bouts built. It has all the 1909 features in the body design, such as buggy rails on front and rear seats plus 2 bolt front body mount brackets. The front body mount bracket changed to a 3 bolt style in Jan of 1910. The shipping invoice from Ford says it was a Roadster BUT there was no listing at that time for a Tour-a-bout on the form. Having the one photo of the car before restoration proves it was always a Tour-a-bout. Its a very rare 1909.

Re: 1909 Tourabout - Photos Added
It is interesting that there is a buggy rail on the front seat as a roadster would have. Could it have been that the tour-a-bout back section was added, perhaps soon after the T was built and delivered? If the tour-a-bout section was added at the body factory in Pontiac MI, it is indeed a "rare" Model T.

I also wonder about the "rear end" housing. When was the stamped steel plainrear end discontinued and the 1910 style first used. The housing appears to be the 1910 model year one used until about late May 1910.

The rear end photo shows the style that was used in the late 1909 Model Year and was used in the early 1910s made in August of 1909.

All 1910 Model Ts have bowed top irons when original, as far as original Ts have been found as as listed in original sales information.

These are original top irons off of a 1910 Tourabout and they are straight.
I noticed the Tourabout that is for sale above is was sold as a Gray Runabout so I question if the top irons, buggy rails and double seat are original to that car?

Here is a picture of one exactly like mine. Notice the straight top irons. Also notice the front seat where the top irons attach, the bracket is straight and not turned outward like the 1909-10 Tourings. This makes the top a little more narrow than the Tourings. Just like the Roadsters have straight top irons.
Well, I can’t attach the picture....

What was the original color, green? Possibly green with black fenders?
