1912 Torpedo Roadster restoration in progress

Post by TBones12 » Thu Sep 23, 2021 5:04 pm

1912 Torpedo Roadster restoration in progress. $16,500.

I purchased the T at Hershey.
Installed hydraulic brakes lasted year.
Put in a 1926 engine I purchased from Ed Henline. He used the engine for demonstrations. I do not believe it was ever in a car.
Part of the body is original and part was remanufactured by the previous owner.
It starts on crank although it does take some finagling. I am pretty sure that has to do with timing position position.
The wheels I think are ok but when the car turns, the wheels seemed to bow in. I tightened the front bolts and reset the wheels and now they seem ok.
See pictures, but seeing in person would be better.
There is no title.
The tank and rear 'tool' box / trunk are in very good condition.
The top irons are good. I think the wood bows are for a different year. I will include the bows with the car so the buyer can sell them to buy the correct year.
The head lights are of course brass.
The right front tire has a small leak. I have to pump it up every so often.
It needs seats and a top.
The fenders and splash apron are repo's.

More pictures upon request.
Tried to send a video of me driving but I can't figure out how to change the extension. I might be able to text you a video.

Questions can be directed to me at rtpoane@hotmail.com. I will get back to you by the end of the day maximum. If you do not hear from me call my office at 410-420-7676 because if I didn't get the first email, I won't get the second.

Bob

Price reduced $14800.

The car cost $10,000
The engine was $3500
The brakes with peddle around $1225
The floor boards around $150

Other parts not added to the price.

The price is based on what the next person might put into it.

Good Hershey find!

The 1912 torpedo is taken off the market.

Some of you will laugh at me and some will understand: I love the Model T! Hard to get myself to sell it! Hate to let it slip out of my hands

I really want to convert it so a buckboard can fit on the back.

Model T pick up's look real nice in the fall with corn stalks and mums in the back.

Yea, I just talked myself into keeping - for now anyway.

There will be very little wiggle room in the garage once the fenders go on.
After the fenders go on, and it looks all pretty, then maybe, just maybe, only maybe will I put it back up for sale! lol
