1917 Model T Ford Speedster for Sale
This car has never been driven. Zero miles!
The bones of this project were discovered in an abandoned mine in the
California Gold country about 5 years ago.
All frame rails, cross members, suspension and steering components have been
blasted and powder coated. The engine has been completely rebuilt with forged
aluminum pistons, Stipe cam, high compression head, babbits and a NOS
Winfield carb and manifold. New water pump, fuel pump, alternator (Nissan)
and custom exhaust header are included. The transmission was completely
overhauled and a new Warford underdrive/overdrive trans was installed.
Differential has been overhauled.
Suspension and steering include a dropped front axle (4”) and dropped rear
axle (4”), a new VEGA steering box and a customized Spenser Fat Man steering
wheel with a black walnut rim. New wheels (except spare), tubes, tires and
flappers. A Wilwood rear disc brake system has been installed along with a
handmade brake fluid reservoir.
New brass radiator from The Brassworks
I have invoices and receipts for just about everything.
A set of clear1917 California plates with tabs is included. This car has not been
registered. A bill of sale will be provided.
There are a few unfinished bits left to be done….the tail light wiring (complete
and working) needs to be tidied up, there are some hood fit issues, the gas
pedal needs adjustment and a few blisters have formed in the paint on the gas
tank. I do have 2 fresh quarts of paint and hardener.
This car is loaded with many one of a kind components and I would be remiss
in not giving credit where credit is due. Many of you know Henry K. Lee and
what the man from Tennessee is capable of…..he is responsible for the artistry
you see in the seats, exhaust system, the black walnut dash, the one of a kind
gas tank w/ gauge and the incredible dropped steering shaft….and the list goes
on. Hank is truly “Mr. Speedster and he played a huge part in bringing this car
to where it is today!
I will answer any questions you may have. The car is located in Concord, CA
for those of you who want to kick the tires. 925-332-9307 cell
