FS/FT: 1927 TT project

Post by signsup » Mon Apr 29, 2019 10:11 am

I am representing this 1927 Ford Model TT project for The Indiana Military Museum who was interested in having me create them a WWI ambulance on what they thought was their Model T rolling chassis until they learned it was actually a TT chassis and not suitable for their needs.
We have this project in our shop located in Winston, GA, a small town located on the western outskirts of Atlanta, just off I-20. Thansportation can be discussed, but this project is sold complete, no parting out. Their asking price is $2,500, but reasonable offers can be presented for their board’s approval.
My son and I got the engine running on a small amount of gas and the bands and secondary transmission shift and work. So, a running rolling chassis with most major sheet metal.

Here is what we represent:
1927 numbers matching engine and frame
Engine runs with equal compression through the four cylinders, babbits sound good, no knock
Holly vaporizer carb
Generator and starter
We could not test mag and field coils
Manifold, but no exhaust or muffler
Frame solid, springs and axles appear good and solid
Wooden spokes demountable wheels with three spare wheels and 4 debountable rims
Metal cab is solid with wooden bows needing replacement for top, some damage to bottom floor area and mounting surfaces
Seat riser and gas tank
Hood, two front fenders and one spare drivers fender
No headlights
Radiator has not been tested, but holds water when plugged at inlet and outlet
4 running boards, two appear original, one with brackets for ? 2 appear to be correct TT boards
Running board brackets attached to frame
No bed, rear fenders or tail lights
The usual coffee can with castle nuts, bolts, demountable rim brackets, terminal blocks, wire clips, etc

I have the serial number written down somewhere and can provide it, if needed and can take and post additional photos or provide answers to any questions. Rolled outside for photos, but kept inside as it was with the IMM since their possession.

Thank you for looking. And, if you know of a Model T project from 1917 to 1923 that could be used as a platform for a M1917 ambulance build, plese let me know. We would also consider a possible trade for such.

Why do we drive on parkways and park on driveways?

A bunch of old cars
Sometimes they run.
Sometimes, they don't.

I can submit all serious offers to the museum board for approval. TT located in the Atlanta, GA area but transportation can be discussed.

Fellow coming over Saturday morning to look at it in response to local ad. If anyone is remotely interested, you still have an opportunity. I can present reasonable offers to the Museum board. The engine does run and the worm gear trans and the aux trans both work. I would think it would be worth this money in parts alone.
But, I'm not a TT guy . . .

Aux trans is a "Twin High" according to the casting. Some have inquired as to it's ID.

Thank you for your interest.

Hello I have the same year truck and I'm trying to see how the rear seat frame attaches to the cab. Would it be possible to get a few close-up pictures of your rear seat fame mounting.

Thank You Joe Jennings

Truck is sold and headed out of state. Thanks to all. Now to find that 17-23 rolling chassis for an M1917 ambulance.
