1915 Model T Touring car, possibly a rare “wide track” model originally sold in the Southern States. Car has a slightly wider wheelbase (~4 inches), which was originally designed for following cotton wagon ruts in the road. Uncommon, period correct suspension damper setup.
Engine and transmission were rebuilt (aluminum pistons, .270 cam, lifter, valves, etc.). Engine casting date is 11 16 14. Engine starts and runs on battery or magneto. No generator/alternator setup but the battery has a trickle charger attached. No starter setup; has the original reinforced aluminum hogshead. Coils and carburetor rebuilt in the last few years. Recently changed Scandinavian cotton bands. Fresh kingpin and steering bushings. Oil screen filter with magnet. Freshly rebuilt rear suspension and rear axle with new brake cams, ring/pinion, thrust washers, seals, and a modern pinion bearing assembly (no more nasty bearing sleeve). Refreshed Klaxon horn. Added a quarter turn fuel shutoff valve before the carburetor. Boiled/cleaned radiator and fuel tank. Four new tire inner tubes, two new tires (other tires in good shape). Four new wheels made by Stutzmann Wheel in Ohio. Body wood is in good shape. Lots of small bits and pieces replaced.
Car runs well and is original in spirit. Beautiful ivory and root beer paint scheme with a white top in very nice condition. Good for wedding/engagement photos. I would keep it if I had the space, but I’m only allowed one at a time! Asking price is $15,000. Located in El Cajon, CA.
