With that casting date on the block, it is really a 1916 model.

engine number is 874180, hows that make it a 16? Looks like August 15 to me

Looks like Aug. 20 of 1915 to me. Still would make it a '16 as the fiscal year for 1915 ended July 31, 1915. Drives me nuts this "early" model year switchover. Why the heck didn't/couldn't they stick to good old Jan. to Dec.??

Correct, 874180 confirms a 1916 model engine number, late in August 15, Ford released model changes close to fiscal years, the 1916 model started on the 1st of August 1915 and finished on the 31st of July 1916 for the new black radiator model.

Using fiscal years made it easier for a new model release, who want's to test drive in the middle of winter, a nice summer's day sells cars.

Ok I'll buy that except literally all my T's I bought in dead of winter except my very first one. Clara my '13 was test drove and bought in Minnesota on a 19 degree day! Man that was a cold drive yet she fired right up after sitting 3 years also. She's still my pet!

Did you buy it? If so, congrats. Surprised at that asking price it took this long. Be curious if not just plain nosey if it went for asking price. Mainly cause I been doing my own little research on how prices are going and it seems they're dropping. Especially on brass cars.

There are more 1915 Ts (some claim more than Ford made) and few 1916 Ts, as many 1916 Ts were reconfigured with a brass radiator and lights to make them genuine for brass era clubs.
