FS rear axle bearing

have not measured any of them But they seam solid All for $125 including shipping in USA

These need to be measured on both ends before they can be sold. We all have lots of these around that are out of spec now from wear. I sorted through eight to find four good ones for my car.

Using a micrometer, measure several of the rollers in several places at each end. One can visually see if any of the rollers has been "compressed", it will most often measure under the .498 - '499 - I have yet to locate a .500 roller !

In some of the model t restoration videos and manuals (Chaffin book) they state anything .495 to .50 is good. I've heard that if one end of the rollers is good and the other is undersized some, folks will rotate them so the loaded side of the bearing has the better side of the rollers.

OK I measured. They vary from .490 to .496. A couple were to. 497 One was .489on one end better on the other end. I will take $ 75 with shipping included if anyone wants them Thank you

.498 is stock size for original NOS bearings. With new axles and new sleeves, you can use bearings down to .490 and they will be superior to the solid bearings. Of course less wear is better. Tight cages are a must. Others may disagree. To each their own.

Some years ago, Les Schubert suggested that if some new axles were made larger, we could use good but smaller bearings and still get a good fit. I don't know if the new machining would be finincially reasonable to justify the option.
