RV, how do you determine the number to use if your plate is missing?

Re: 1909-early 1914 radiator number plates
I find a car with a verifiably original engine that has a similar engine casting date, note its radiator number, and stamp the plate with a number that is a bit higher or lower, depending on where the date falls in relation to the engine number of the car whose plate I'm stamping.

The dull orange appearance of the brass is from the protective film.

Thanks for the info guys; that's very helpful. Wouldn't mind hearing about numbers from years too.

Re: 1909-early 1914 radiator number plates
Here is an example for you. My '13 has a radiator number 231500. The engine number is 212526. They must have sold a lot of radiators for that number to get so far ahead of the engine numbers!

I my 15 Canadian touring has the original radiator in it this picture shows the stamped numbers and it had engine number C631_ _. I also found these body numbers stamped on body the inside drivers door. Hope you find this helpful.
