Motometer thermometers for sale.

Post by Dropacent » Sun Feb 02, 2020 7:57 pm

These are for the junior motometer, the one commonly used on the model T sized car. I have just two available, purchased a loooong time ago. If you have a very special motometer with a bad thermometer, here ya go. I’d prefer to sell together, $75 postpaid to your door. SPECIAL MOTOMETERS ? An original nickel plated motometer is very special, as they have not been available in nickel in forever. Chrome, to me, sticks out like a pimple on your nose. A motometer in beautiful original condition, that’s special , too ! An heirloom? I’ll leave that up to you to decide. No guarantees If you break it installing it, but they are pretty stout. I’d prefer to sell together , but let me know if a single one for $40 interests you. If nobody steps forward to buy both, I’ll split them up. Tmorsher@icloud.com

When I imported Motor Meters from Germany on the late 1950s, they came chrome plated. I discovered that there was a layer of nickel plate underneath. A plating shop reversed the process and for a few dollars Ihad nickel plated Junior Moter Meters. At thatI could sell with Ford style plate for10 dollars.

Darel, everything you ever offered was very high quality. I collect ORIGINAL hood ornaments and proud to have one of your dogbone caps in my collection. Thanks for the effort back then !

I never understood why replacements thermometers haven't been available since complete units are available in REPO. Someone is making them!

Mark, I was told at the time there was no upside to providing them. People would buy one, say it was broken on receipt, or they broke it on install, and would ask for another. They just drew a line, no more. I can understand that.
