Wanted valve stems

Post by Tbird » Fri May 15, 2020 3:09 pm

Looking for some valve stems for Model T. I have some original Schrader rim nuts and covers that I’m using. From what I have read on the forums there were other manufacturers other than Schrader that can be used in place of the 777. Anyone out there that has a set (4) that they would like to part with? Also would need bridge washers.
Thanks
Mike Bird

Dill, Bridgeport and Firestone also made them. All you need to do is find them. Schrader is the only company that used 777 for a part number. Most all of them use the TR designation, which stands for the Tire and Rim Association.

Larry,
If I’m not mistaken the length of the stem does matter and the longest size you can use is 3” and the shortest is 2 3/4”?

Don't use anything longer than 2", unless you want to throw your wheels out of balance. Also, don't use modern ones. They are the wrong diameter.

The 777 is 3". Sorry. I like the 888 which is 2 3/4. It still works the same, and reduces the weight slightly.

Thanks Larry,
I’m just checking here I didn’t know if you got my emails or not, but I’m guessing you don’t have anything that’ll work for me?

Mike, I have a couple of 825's but they are 3 1/2 inches long while the 777's & 888's are 3 inches.
