FS: 1909-1921 CLOSED Pinion Bearing Spool

Post by Marshall V. Daut » Wed Feb 13, 2019 8:16 pm

For Sale: A rust-free, non-pitted CLOSED pinion bearing spool for 1909-1921 Model T's, with set bolt. If you are building a rear end for an early Model T, you need this spool! The open spools are far more common. This part is NOT reproduced. Smooth inside bearing surface, not rusted or pitted. There is one hitch: a small crack on the inside extends into one bolt hole, but does NOT exit on the outside hump. It could be repaired or probably installed as is, or used as a core in exchange for a Fun Projects pinion bearing assembly conversion. There is a core charge of $50 for this hard-to-find item. I will sell this one for only $32.50 plus ACTUAL shipping cost within the continental USA.

This would be more for the years 13-20. The 09 -10 was a shorter housing and the 10-12 spool did not have any bumps on the outside edges of the housing where the studs go through.

Thank you, Tbird. Obviously I am not an early T guy. :) I'm not sure I can change the incorrect information in the original ad, so we'll hope anyone responding will see your update. I will also tell any interested buyer that this spool is only for 1913-1920 Model T's. 'Still kind of early, though, before the production number skyrocketed.

Marshall, No problem. I think you can change the info, there is usually a pencil looking button on the top of your original post only visible to you that you should be able to edit it. Just in case anyone is wondering what an early spool looks like.

The last spool pictured is 191B. The earlier one is 191. Hard to find, made for the 3/8 inch studs in 1910.

Richard, I’ve never seen one of those earlier ones. How much shorter is the 10 spool? I was lucky enough to find the one I have.

The early '13s use the black one pictured above.
