WTB: Running board tool box w/dimensions.

Post by Walter Higgins » Mon Jul 27, 2020 10:29 am

Need a smaller box than the one shown to fit my application.

No longer than 13" outside length. Minimum inside length 10-1/4" to accommodate shown Optima battery.

No wider than 8-1/2" but could be less by quite a bit.

Vertical depth of box itself no less than 8" given that it has a 1" lid. Inside dimensions of box when lid is closed -- no less than 9".

The main critical dimension is the first one, that it not be longer than 13" as it needs to fit within an opening. I'm sure there are other variables to be considered but, if you have something that meets that first criteria I'd like to talk to you.

Email through the forum is the most direct way to reach me. Thanks!

Walter, if you can't find what you want given the dimensions you quote, there is another way. The optima battery does not need to be standing upright. It can be laid on its side, so that may give you other options.

Thanks for the suggestion. Optima's are great for that and it was a consideration but it gets to cutting things a little too close dimensionally.
