OT Dodge Brothers 1920 gas cap needed
Any one have a Dodge Brothers gas cap that would fit a 1920 kicking around? The threads on the tank are about 2-1/2 inches and 13 TPI. The top is 6 sided on a larger round base. (as I recall) Or even just a cap that would fit would work,.
Thanks
Thanks

Don't forget most everyone that has a T built before 1914, well at least in part.

Glad Gene probably has one, I couldn't tell you where my DB gas tank stuff is right now. However, I do see them on eBay frequently. They don't seem to be uncommon like some DB parts are!
And Wayne was right!

Re: OT Dodge Brothers 1920 gas cap needed
I have been watching eBay, even using different search parameters, so far no go. I checked with Myers Early Dodge, LOL I am use to T parts prices and expect higher for Dodge and Chevrolet so when they gave me a price of 45 plus shipping for a used cap, time to do more looking.

Re: OT Dodge Brothers 1920 gas cap needed
I drove Erik's DB on a tour two years ago, took his Dad along, likely one of his last tours. Had a great time! But wish the DB brakes were a little better. Will have to see what I can do to mine when I get it back together. (after the Ts!)
Mark, did you find a cap yet?

Re: OT Dodge Brothers 1920 gas cap needed
Mark, quick question. Are the threads the same as a T tank? In other words, would a T cap fit the Dodge? My '25 coupe has a cast iron cap that sounds similar to what you need, I have no idea where it came from. Dave

No, the threads are external on the neck (male), internal (female) on the cap. Thanks for checking.

Saw this on eBay. sort of matches your description: female threads and appears to be six sided. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Antique-Boyce- ... Sw31pfZ0-i

Sorry Frank, that's a radiator cap. The cap Mark is looking for has a long "tit" on it, fairly unique piece that I've not seen on any other cars. here's a rough sketch of one from memory;

Re: OT Dodge Brothers 1920 gas cap needed
I think the one shown on the aaca thread is earlier. As far as I know that style would work, but think Dodge got rid of the tower and added a splash shield on the inside, like some of the T gas caps. Other wise the shape is the same as posted in the link. If I don't find one soon, am going to solder the neck off a Model A gas tank on. Would be easy to remove later and gas caps are a plenty.
