Opened up, the driveshaft is junk, tube is what it is. If anyone is interested in the tube only make me an offer otherwise it goes in the scrap pile. Joe

Appears the "ball" was nipped off for a ball bearing 4th main.

Bill if this one doesn't look like it will work for you. I have a "full length" tube in the pile that I would be happy to cut the end off. Let me know, I would be surprised that the one above was modified for a ball bearing 4th main (the conversion is ancient) but you never know. Joe

Might just be the angle of the photo Joe BUT the ball end is usually quite "sharp" and not so blunt.

It may have been modified to fit behind a Chevrolet transmission. Either in a T, or a T rear end in a Chevy. The fit isn't perfect, and sometimes people butchered the T torque tube bell to fit better.

Yes it has been modified, Waynes' observation is probably the correct only judging by the "age" of the modification. It always amazes me the "abuse" that the Model T received during it's service life and in many instances simply kept running!
