Ron:
I have them. I got your email but didn't see your ad here. Sorry. I will respond via email. Anyone else seeking any info can send me an email or PM via the forum. Please identify the year of your T and whether you are running on coils or distributor since the wiring varies a bit physically.

I should also point out that the unit will work with 6V or 12V rechargeable battery - whichever you are using in your T with working magneto.

I am looking for a battery charger for my 1916 T Touring. I can switch it to the magneto the T continues to run. What do you have to offer? email: aweq@awequipment.com

Re: WTB mag charger for 12volt battery
I built a magneto battery charger using the diagram from the MFTCA post and the diode shorted after a days use and the result was a dead battery. I assumed I did something wrong so I built another one with the same result. I was using a diode rated at 10 amps and 1000 volts. I tried a better diode (25amps and 1200 volts) and also mounted it in a small heat sink, and everything works as expected. Both types of diodes were from amazon, and really not expensive. John, can you recommend a brand and specs for a diode for the "do-it-yourselfers"? Thanks : Bruce

Here is a recent thread on the subject and what's need to adapt the 6v diagram to 12v (distributor's not covered)

You can use the same bulb but you will get less charging using a 12V battery because there is less potential difference between the nominal 28VAC of the magneto and the 12V battery versus 28VAC and a 6V battery. If the battery is used only for hot shot starting and possibly powering a brake light then the bulb we supply in the kit probably will work fine. If you need MORE charge then you can use an 1129 bulb (which is a 6V bulb actually) in the circuit with your 12V battery. You cannot use an 1129 bulb to get more charging with 6V battery since it will burn out rather quickly. The bulb we supply in the kit is an industrial bulb that is about the lowest resistance bulb we could find that was 12V. Average charge rate will also be reduced if you are running a 3:1 rear end due to lower average RPM of engine.
