Speedster plans

I want to build my own speedster after looking at others. Need plan or blue prints for the base. The rest I will sort out. Like a base similar to rootrliebs but then do my own build. Does anyone have some plans or blueprints? Help! Thanks or any an all your help Don Hanson

Welcome to the speedster crowd Don! It’s your car... built your way... to fit you! Put the seats where they are comfortable for you, and don’t forget to make em wide enough to fit you too. If you use a stock firewall... you already have a starting point, then taper the platform back to fit the seats, then back to frame width or just wider for as far back as you want. I’ve always felt that a T speedster starts lookin kinda wide after about 38” at the seat... but I’m a narrow guy, and any narrower and the passengers start lookin like french fries pokin out the top. Have fun, collect lots of pictures, and make a few sketches before you start

The "base" is dependent upon how you want the upper part too look. Also single or pair of seats. Some have simple seating bucket seats and a firewall with a cowl/dash, gas tank and tool box (some with fenders). Other's plan on a boat tailed body style like a Fontenac, Mercuray, PACO etc. The Rootlieb setup is the simplest/- just a deck. Boat tails more complicated. One of the main things to look at in building is there is a big difference in then and now in the human stature. A man in those times was approx. 5' 6" and 140 pounds max. Today 5' 10" 200 pounds. Build for your comfort and possibly a future person. Can be a deal killer if you are ever going to sell. I put a hidden, low profile, adjustable seat in all of mine.

Wow! you have built 80, that is huge. I wanted to come and visit you but the distance to you, me in MN and you in Fl was just too great for me. What I need is a plan for the main deck. I think then I can figure out seats gas tank and other stuff. I appreciate your contact. Don Hanson

Tom I am building a speedster I have the frame lowered 6 inches and trying to decide on the body. Due you have a picture of the speedster you made with these plans. I might be interested in purchasing a set of plans. Thanks Charlie

The plans are the ones show in this form above. I have a nice set of plans that I have sold many times.They are well detailed. The plans maybe a little short in the setting area for taller people. You can adjust this distance to suit yor height.
