Re-Babbitting service , Model T main bearings

Post by Gene_French » Fri Sep 11, 2020 10:16 am

this is my "home rebuilders special" ... i re-babbitt and linebore the mainbearings in your COMPLETLY disassembled Model T motor block ... this is for standard configuration mainbearings , crankshafts and caps only ... the customer is responsible for determining the suitability of the motor block ,crankshaft , caps and bolts ... i recommend that the crankshaft be magna-flux checked , straightened and properly re-ground , and the block carefully inspected for defects ... i pour the bearings using a automotive grade high Tin babbitt , linebore mainbearings with laminated shin set inplace , machine cut side wells and oil grooves , face thrust and cut clearance radii ... price is $450 plus shipping or customer can drop off and pickup at my site in Nunn,Colorado 80648 ... always an optimist Gene French 970-581-2808

Hi Gene. Does a SCAT crankshaft of standard bearing size qualify as a stock crank? Thanks Brian

Brian:
we spoke earlier today , for everyones information ,what i mean by standard configuration is : not having to bore the bearing saddles and special caps to fit an oversize diameter crankshaft ... Model A or Chev. etc. ... the SCAT model T crankshaft is a standard configuration crankshaft and i will add that i have installed 11 and all have been excellent ... a job very well done ...my compliments to the manufacturer... always an optimist ...Gene French
